In an old city bar...

If you ever get the chance to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra in concert, then for the love of all thats holy....GO!!! Its one of the most incredible, moving, and fun concerts Ive ever seen. At the moment it ranks #1 in my list of favorite concerts. This is only my second time attending the show, and though it was (mostly) the same as last year, I didnt feel like I was sitting through something a second time, as if it were a rerun. I enjoyed every minute of it, and will hopefully continue to do so.
The talent of TBO is absolutly magnificent. The vocalists are absolutly magnificent, especially with their harmonies. The instrumentalist are wonderful too. Mind boggling. Makes me wish I hadnt (sorta) given up on piano. Granted, one teacher said that the 'normal' method didnt work on me. I have no idea what that means. My piano skill is limited to poking out stuff by ear. Yay me.

I have no idea what kind of venues they usually play in, but here in Charlotte, they played in the hockey/rodeo/whatever else arena. Standard round thing. As much fun as Im sure the floor people had, in order to get the full effect, light show included one must sit off to the side, sorta near the back. This way you have a good view of the stage and can oooh and ahh the lights.
Oh. bring sunglasses.

Never heard of TSO, you say? I doubt it. You just didnt know what you were listening to. One of their most well known pieces is Christmas in Sarajevo. Or, if your looking for a tune your more familiar with, its a heavymetaled version of Carol of the Bells.
About this time last year, a Video went around the net of a dude who did up the lights on his house to activate based on some music. If you didnt see it on the web, you mightve seen it on TV, as Miller beer used a portion in a commercial (strangly enough, I never saw it...)
That particular tune is Wizards in Winter.

Their next album, Night Castle, is due out....umm...some time. It was originaly supposed to be out last year and then this past Spring they were going to do a tour for it and Beethovens Last Night, the other non-Christmas album. Oh well. If their rendition of "O Fortuna" is anything to go by...its well worth the wait.
