Dancing with Disappointment

The latest episode of Dancing with the Stars airs in a little under an hour here on the east coast. Im still reeling from last weeks results show. Vivica???? WTF!!??!!? Vivica was the best female dancer on the floor, hands down. She and Joe(y) Lawrence were in a tight battle for the entire show (and Mario, when he and his partner do what theyre supposed to...) . I think that the final week should have been between Vivica and Joey. My reaction when they aired her an Monique (I think she has some funky way of spelling that, but I dont know it...) as the last two, and one of them leaving was something like "Ohh....shit", because both were good dancers. One thing I wish they would do is get the judges reactions afterwards. Ive read Bruno Toniol's blog, but actually seeing them....sometimes one looks forward to thier rants.

This just goes to show that the ratio of Judges vs. Audience voteing is skewed. When Vivica can give such an outstanding performance and end up getting eliminated, but Sara Evans gives....whatever THAT was, get the scores she did, and the immeadiatly shooed to the next round, well...
Dont get me wrong. I like Sara. Really, I do. "Real Fine Place To Start" and "No Place That Far" are two of my favorite songs, ever. But her "Paso Doble" was bad. It looked more like a stiff waltz with some extra bits thrown in. Sara's fan-base is beyond huge. If she makes as far as say, top three or four or whatever, it will be because of the fans, not her dancing skills. She's not getting the votes because she did well on the floor. She gets them because she's Sara Evans, and country music fans everywhere will vote for her simply because of that. But the, Master P's fans only kept him alive for so long...
Who knew who Vivica was at the beginning? I didnt know, except for the fact she looked familiar. When it was pointed out she was Will Smiths girlfriend on Independence Day, the light went on. Damn good movie. I checked out the rest of her filmography on IMDB. Theres a lot of stuff on there, but few I recognized.

Everyone remembers the rematch in the first season. Perhaps she can pull one of those. This was completely undeserved. Completely.
